EP05: Cleaning Workflow – Foam Application & Rinse Techniques

Plan the job by sections.

If using pure water ONLY: Work top to bottom, section by section. Set a safe standoff distance with obstacle avoidance. Keep the spray overlap even. Do a quick inspection after each section. If you see streaks, adjust overlap, speed, or nozzle.

If using “foam detergent + water rinse”: Split the facade into vertical columns.

For each column:

  1. Spray foam bottom to top. This keeps the foam wet and prevents it from drying out too fast. Aim for an even layer—dense like whipped cream.
  2. Wait 3–5 minutes for the foam to break down the dirt.
  3. When the foam starts running down in flocs but hasn’t dried, switch to clean water and rinse top to bottom. We recommend switching to a fan nozzle and using plenty of water to flush away dirt and chemical residue. Finish one column, confirm results, then repeat the next. Do not let foam dry completely.

Important distance note: The radar is at the front of the drone. If you set 5 m standoff, subtract the ~2 m spray bar length—your nozzle tip is actually about 3 m from the wall. So your obstacle distance must be greater than 3 m, to prevent the bar from hitting the facade.
