What parameters should be focused on when choosing a dry-type transformer?

What are the main technical parameters of SCB10 dry-type transformer? What technical parameters should we focus on when choosing SCB10 transformers? These are things that customers need to pay great attention to. Today, I will briefly introduce the knowledge in this area.

1. Capacity

The determination of the capacity needs to know the active power, power factor and accurate power consumption coefficient of the electrical equipment, and the use capacity of the transformer can be calculated through the relevant formula.

2. Rated voltage

The rated voltage refers to the working voltage of the primary winding and the voltage of the secondary winding. Common voltage ratios are 10/0.4, 10/0.6 and so on. Different voltage ratios will also affect the price coefficient of the transformer.

3. Voltage regulation range

The so-called voltage regulation range, when the voltage of the external line is unstable, the voltage regulation coefficient of the transformer needs to be changed to reach the rated voltage of the equipment. There are two types of voltage regulation methods: non-excitation voltage regulation and on-load voltage regulation. The off-excitation voltage regulation needs to be adjusted when the transformer power supply is cut off, while the on-load voltage regulation can be adjusted during the live operation of the transformer.

4. Linking groups

The common connection groups of transformers are Dyn11 and Yyn0. The main difference is that the former adopts the delta connection method for the high-voltage primary winding, while the latter adopts the star connection method. The phase voltage of the delta connection is equal to the line voltage, while the line voltage of the star connection is equal to 1.732 times the phase voltage. The connection method of Dyn11 is currently the main connection method in China. The benefits of this connection method can effectively avoid the pollution of high-order harmonics to the power grid.

5. Gauge

The early determination of the gauge can avoid the inappropriate placement of the transformer in the later construction process, resulting in the inability of the transformer to be placed stably. Strictly speaking, there are relevant national standards in this regard, but in the case of meeting the national standards, it is also necessary to meet the actual needs of customers.

6. Material of protective cover

Dry-type transformers need to be enclosed and protected by protective covers of specific materials, such as cold-rolled steel plates, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys. Different materials will also affect the overall price of dry-type transformers.
