Basic knowledge of CRT dry type transformers

A dry-type transformer used for this purpose is called a step-down transformer. A dry-type transformer is a complete closed magnetic circuit composed of an iron core column or an iron yoke, and the coil is made of insulated copper wire or aluminum wire to form the primary and secondary coils of the transformer. Except for small-capacity dry-type transformers, most transformers are oil-immersed natural cooling type, and insulating oil plays the role of insulating and cooling between coils. For the terminal, the voltage required by various electrical equipment is not too high, and the high voltage of the power system must be converted into a rated voltage that meets the requirements of various electrical equipment of the user through a transformer. It can be seen from the above that the dry-type transformer is the main electrical equipment used to change the voltage in the power system.

From the perspective of the power system, a power network connects many power plants and users, and is divided into a main system and several sub-systems. The voltage of each sub-system is not necessarily the same, and the main system must be of a unified voltage level, which also requires transformers of various specifications and capacities to connect each system. Therefore, the dry-type transformer is an indispensable electrical equipment in the power system.

A dry-type transformer is an electrical device that exchanges alternating voltage or current between two or more windings at the same frequency by means of electromagnetic induction. The electric energy generated from the power plant has to be transmitted to the end users through a long transmission line. In order to reduce the electric energy loss on the transmission line, high-voltage or ultra-high-voltage transmission must be used. At present, the voltage issued by the general power plant cannot be too high due to the limitation of the insulation level. This requires the transformer to increase the voltage issued by the power plant and send it to the power grid. Such transformers are collectively referred to as step-up transformers.

As a necessary power transmission and distribution equipment in the power generation industry, the demand for dry-type transformers is closely related to the investment scale of the power grid. In recent years, the rapid development of new energy power generation industry has brought better development space for transformers, and it has also become an important direction for transformer manufacturers to seize market segments and expand their business scope. At the same time, it also promotes the optimization of transformer product structure and technological innovation.
