Power Transformer Equipment Classification
1. Power Transformer Equipment Phase Number Distinction
It can be divided into single phase and three phase transformer. In the three-phase power system, three phase transformers are generally used. When the capacity is too large and limited by transportation conditions, three single phase transformers can also be used in the three-phase power system to form a transformer group.
2. Power Transformer Equipment Winding Distinction
It can be divided into 2 winding power transformers and 3 winding power transformers. The usual transformers are 2 winding power transformers, that is, there are two windings on the iron core, one is the primary winding and the other is the secondary winding.
The 3 winding power transformers is a transformer with a large capacity (above 5600 kVA), which is used to connect three different voltage transmission lines. In special cases, there are also transformers with more windings applied.
3. Power Transformer Equipment Structural Classification
It can be divided into iron core transformer and iron shell transformer. If the winding is wrapped around the iron core, it is an iron core transformer; if the iron core is wrapped around the winding, it is an iron shell transformer.
The two are only slightly different in structure, and there is no essential difference in principle. Power transformers are iron core type.
4. Power Transformer Equipment Insulation Cooling Classification
Can be divided into oil immersed transformers and dry type transformers. For enhanced insulation and cooling conditions, the transformer core and windings are immersed together in an oil tank filled with transformer oil. In special cases, such as street lights and mine lighting, dry-type transformers are also used.
oil immersion type transformers
1. Non-enclosed oil-immersed transformers: mainly include S8, S9, S10 and other series products, which are widely used in industrial and mining enterprises, agriculture and civil buildings.
2. Enclosed oil-immersed transformers: mainly include S9, S9-M, S10-M and other series products, which are mostly used in places with a lot of oil and chemical substances in the petroleum and chemical industries.
3. Sealed oil-immersed transformers: mainly include BS9, S9-, S10-, S11-MR, SH, SH12-M and other series products, which can be used for power distribution in various places such as industrial and mining enterprises, agriculture, and civil buildings.
In addition, there are special transformers for various special purposes. For example, high-voltage transformers for testing, transformers for electric furnaces, transformers for electric welding and transformers for thyristor circuits, voltage transformers and current transformers for measuring instruments.
