Little Knowledge About Transformers

Transformers are basic equipment for power transmission and distribution and are widely used in industries, agriculture, transportation, urban communities and other fields. There are about 17 million transformers operating on the grid in my country, with a total capacity of about 11 billion kVA. Transformer loss accounts for about 40% of the power loss of transmission and distribution, which has great potential for energy saving. In order to accelerate the promotion and application of high-efficiency energy-saving transformers, improve energy resource utilization efficiency, and promote green, low-carbon and high-quality development, in January 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration of Market Supervision, and the National Energy Administration jointly formulated the "Transformer Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan ( 2021-2023)"
