A dry-type transformer is an electrical device that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to transfer electrical energy or signals from one circuit to another. It is an important part of power transmission or signal transmission. Widely used for local lighting, high-rise management buildings, airports, terminals, mechanical and electronic equipment controlled by digital technology, etc. Simply put, a dry-type transformer is a transformer whose iron core and windings are not immersed in insulating oil. Dry-type transformers are mainly divided into three forms.

1. Open: This is the common form. That body is in direct contact with the atmospheric environment. Suitable for dry and clean rooms. There are generally two cooling methods. Self-cooling of air and cooling of air.

2. Enclosed: The device is placed in a closed cabinet and is not in direct contact with the atmosphere.

3. Note: The main insulation is injected with epoxy resin or other resin. Simple structure, small size, suitable for small capacity transformers.

Dry-type transformer structure

The amorphous alloy dry type transformer is mainly composed of a silicon steel sheet iron core and epoxy resin developed into a coil structure. The insulating cylinder is placed between the high and low voltage coils to increase electrical insulation, and the coils are supported by spacers. The overlapping fastening of that part has the property of preventing slack.

Winding: Among the two windings, the high-voltage winding is the high-voltage winding, and the low-voltage winding is the low-voltage winding. High voltage can be divided into concentric and overlapping types according to the relative position of high and low voltage winding lines. The concentric winding structure is simple in design and easy to manufacture, adopting this economical structure. The lap type is mainly used for special transformers.

1. For the main transformer of the 6-10kV workshop substation, the over-current maintenance with time limit is generally installed. If the over-current maintenance action time is greater than 0.5-0.7s, the current quick-break maintenance should also be installed.

2. Gas maintenance: Oil-immersed dry-type transformers with a capacity of 800kV.A and above should be equipped with gas maintenance as the main maintenance for the internal failure of the dry-type transformer oil tank and the oil level drop.

3. Current quick-break maintenance: It cooperates with gas maintenance to quickly remove various faults on the high-voltage side of the dry-type transformer and its interior, which are the main maintenance of the dry-type transformer.

4. Overcurrent maintenance: It is a relay maintenance equipment installed to avoid overcurrent caused by external short circuit of dry-type transformers and as a backup maintenance for the main maintenance of dry-type transformers.

5. Temperature maintenance: It is used as maintenance equipment for dry-type transformer oil temperature rise and poor cooling system operation.

6. Single-phase grounding maintenance: It consists of zero-sequence current transformer and current relay connected to it. As the maintenance of single-phase grounding faults on the high-voltage side of dry-type transformers.
