Electrical Substation Transformer Protection

1. First disconnect the circuit breaker of the electrical substation transformer, close the grounding switch, and after the transformer is fully discharged, lock the high-voltage cabinet. Transformer manufacturers, we hang a prevent closing sign at the switch. For the protection of box-type transformers, clean the porcelain bushing on the outer shell, carefully inspect the box-type transformer shell and gasket to see if there is any split, and whether the rubber gasket is aging. If there is a split, it should be replaced.

2. Check the grounding condition of the electrical substation transformer, whether the ground wire is damaged, if the fault is severe, it must be replaced. Reliable lead terminals, grounding screws, and busbar screws. Remove the screws if they are loose. Use a thin flat file to darken the contact surface, or use instead of spring washers and screws until the contact is fine.

3. Turn off the grounding switch on the high-voltage side, lock the high-voltage opener, and use a shaker to measure the insulation resistance. Then turn off the grounding switch on the high-voltage side again to discharge the box-type transformer. Carefully check the electrical substation transformer room and transformer for leftover objects, and evacuate the site.
